REV. RUBIN FIELDS, SR.
In 1953, while located at 2330 Vine Street, Rev. Fields was given a vision to purchase a church home; the membership had grown to 35 members. A building and property at 2455 Prospect was purchased. The move into the building came on December 6, 1956, the furniture was purchased in June 1959. Rev. Fields had used a motto "Where there is no vision the people will perish." (Proverbs 29:18). On November 30,1963, Rev. Rubin Fields, Sr. was called to a pastorate in Indianapolis, Indiana.
REV. JOHN F. YOLKUM
February 25, 1964 the Church was called together and the Rev. John F. Yolkum was called to lead. The church was cleared of its major indebtedness under the leadership of Rev. Yolkum, who left the church on August 2, 1970.
REV. ALBERT BAKER
January 10, 1971 the Church was called together to select a new leader. God being the good God that He is, placed it on the mind and heart of the late Rev. Albert Baker, to hear and accept the call. On April 8, 1974 Corinthian Baptist Church was destroyed by fire. Corinthian members worshipped above the Three Friends Restaurant for one (1) year. On Sunday, August 5, 1979, groundbreaking services were held to build a new church at 2455 Prospect, then a setback occurred. In April 1980, Corinthian moved to 3540 Woodland. On Sunday, December 12, 1982, after spending the entire day at church, our Pastor, Rev. Albert Baker, was called from labor to his reward.
REV. BOBBY G. ROBERSON
December 26, 1982, Rev. Bobby G. Roberson accepted Interim Pastorate of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church for ninety (90) days. Long before the 90 days were over, there was no doubt that the Lord had placed him here. On March 10, 1983 Rev. Roberson accepted the call to Pastor the Church. We have been blessed to have Pastor for 39 years; longer than any other Pastor.
On April 6, 1985 Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church moved to a new location, 3100 East 31st Street and held our first service there on Sunday, April 7, 1985. The Lord gave Pastor Roberson a vision in the beginning of 1986 to remodel our church by adding new educational facilities and office space on the first floor of the Sanctuary.
On June 2, 1991, the Church moved to our present location at 6841 Sni-A-Bar Road. Our entrance service was held on Sunday, June 9, 1991. On Sunday, September 15, 1991, we "burned our old mortgage" and "accepted the deed" to our new church home. Our gift from the Blue River-Kansas City Baptist Association came when the members of the Eastwood Hills Baptist Church turned the property over to the Association, who turned it over to Corinthian. We will be forever grateful to the members of Eastwood Hills Baptist Church, and have accepted this gift with joy, with praises and with thanksgiving. "For We Have Come This Far By Faith".
The Lord is continuing to bless Corinthian in a mighty way and we have been diligently working to build His Kingdom.
